[Image description: A group of people sit in an oval shape with two white cubes in the middle. On the white cubes are two audio recorders, recording the conversation. The people sit in white chairs with metallic, silver legs and direct their attention to a man speaking at the top end of the oval. He has a green shirt, beige pants, white socks, and black shoes and holds his hands out as he speaks. The group of people sit in a gallery setting with artworks on walls to the left of them, an image projected onto a wall on the top end of the picture, and a vitrine with bright light coming in from windows to their right].

Engaging Artists is a residency and professional development program for artists seeking to develop their socially-engaged practice through partnerships with community organizations. In 2016, the cohort was focusing on issues of housing inequality in New York City. Each artist was working as an Artist-in-Residence and volunteer with organizations dedicated to housing advocacy, homeless services, and/or anti-displacement efforts in their respective communities.
