Give Voice Postcard Writing Event

Neumeraki and The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation hosted at The 8th Floor an afternoon of activism, where we made our voices heard by writing postcards to Congress.

Attendees helped advocate for the protection of civil liberties and human rights issues that matter most to them – the arts, the rights of immigrants, women, and the LGBTQ community, healthcare, natural disaster relief, gun control regulation, or tax reform – using artist-designed postcards. Postcards, stamps, and federal officials’ district addresses were provided.

Packs of postcards were also available for purchase, the proceeds of which support an organization of the artist’s choice, including the National Assembly of State Art Agencies (NASAA), Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), or Planned Parenthood. Visitors were also welcome to bring their own postcards.

The Give Voice Postcard Project is a grassroots, multi-state advocacy initiative that has the potential to change the current political landscape.

Neumeraki, founded by Eileen Jeng Lynch, collaborates with artists, galleries, and organizations on curatorial, consulting, writing, and editing projects.
