Join us for the opening of Reality Reframed: Recent Works by Todd Gray on Thursday, February 22 from 6-8pm (RSVP). On view through April 13, 2024 at The 8th Floor, the show will feature recent photo assemblages drawing on Gray’s extensive archive of photography from the last forty years. Throughout his photographic practice, Gray frequently defies the conventions of photography, destabilizing the primacy of the image and the traditional construction of pictorial narrative. Combining seemingly disparate or dissociated images into a single work, he leads the viewer to question or construct the story he poses.

Image description: A small photograph in an ornate gold oval frame sits near the middle within a larger photograph in a rectangular wooden frame, creating a fairly flat sculpture. The smaller oval photo depicts a sculpture of one person facing away sitting on top of another person who makes a face toward the viewer. The bigger photo that one sits within is of a manicured green garden, with the tall bushes and pathways coming to a meeting point near the center of the frame.
